AGARTALA, Sep 15 (TIWN): Tripura Nari Samiti must had never heard about Gauri Lankesh as a journalist till she died, but after her murder CPI-M's wing Nari Samiti have come on massive protest on Friday at Agartala.
Nari Samiti had walked a silent rally tying their mouths with black cloths throughout the rally.
MP Jharna Das Baidya was leading the rally which had begun from Rabindra Bhawan.
On Sep-9, amidst much allegations against Naxals for killing journalist Gauri Lankesh, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has walked in a rally expressing his grief over Lankesh’s death.
In Manik Sarkar’s own state from Anuara to many victims left without justice, but Sarkar has no time to walk on rally for them.
Lankesh, an independent journalist who edited her own Kannada weekly, was shot dead outside her house by unidentified men in Bangalore on Tuesday night. She had been a fierce critic of the Hindutva organisations and their divisive politics. As if on cue, right-wing activists started justifying or even her killing.
