AGARTALA, Sep 7 (TIWN): On Thursday midnight about 12:10 AM, on information of DRI, Agartala and further developed by Intelligence branch of BSF, Ambassa, a joint operation was carried out by Sh D M Punetha, DC(G), troops of 130 Bn BSF along with DRI Agartala,by deploying surveillance parties in three different(road) directions, to check the escape routes. Ops party led by BSF Officer after chase and confirmation, intercepted the truck bearing Registration No. JK-02A-W-4867. During the process, driver of the truck jumped from the vehicle and absconded in the nearby Forest area, who could not be traced due to dense forest growth and darkness. During the detailed search of the vehicle, following items were recovered:-

Phensedyl   - 53,600 bottles worth Rs.68,34,000/-,

Wheat Flour   (brown sugar)   -  4500 Kgs worth Rs.99,000/-.

The above seized items along with the truck were handed over to DRI Agartala for lawful custody and further action.

During the current year, since month of Jan to till date, BSF, Tripura Frontier has seized 1,72,836 bottles of Phensedyl worth Rs.2,20,02,022/-.
