AGARTALA, Aug 24 (TIWN): Tripura BSNL circle's lameduck excuses only harassing customers daily basis. What the common men will do with soiled notes those are transacting from ATMs of Indian Banks ? Living in a nation where rumours are more acceptable than the actual rules, it's really tough to make even a high govt official to convince that 'written notes, 10 rupees coins are not yet banned'. TIWN had published a news on Wednesday following up a BSNL customer's allegation when the person's 2000 rupees note was rejected at BSNL Head Office in North Gate of Agartala. However, after the rejection of the note, TIWN met RBI official and verified the note. But the RBI Officer said after seeing the note , 'it's absolutely ok'. But when the same currency was taken again to BSNL, an young aged official asked to bring written from RBI and threw the note on the desk. After that it was complained to the BSNL Cash-counter's chief Bibhuti Chakraborty on Wednesday and he said that the matter will be looked after.

On Thursday at BSNL Office, Chakarborty told TIWN, "We are the worst sufferer. Whereas RBI and Bank have not called any written ban to such notes but when we are going to deposit the money state banks is not receiving the notes".

Bibhuti Chakraborty also said, "We are facing the tough time due to such confusions. One day a person came with Rs. 10 rupees coins, but how could we receive it ? Petrol pumps take such notes sometimes but if shop-keepers are not excepting such notes and coins how BSNL can receive such currencies ?"

The ultimate question is shop-keeper and Govt office are same things ?

Moreover, when the person went to UBI bank, they simply denied that they can't change the note as has not been withdrawn from UBI ATM. The problem was the person took the money not from ATM but with a bundle of notes in business purpose before few days and there is chance of returning the money. Nothing was wrong with the note except a pen-written "100" on it.

Noteworthy, RBI official Tanay Pal told TIWN, "There is no fault with the scribbled notes. This is absolutely okay but as public are not receiving the money please aware people not to take written notes at all. If ATMs deliver such notes just immediately complain it in the bank. The complaint can be done via online also".

Questions raising :

1. If scribbled/ soiled notes are not valid, why is the Govt not taking back all such notes from the market ?

2. Why ATMs are transacting such notes ?

3. Can BSNL or Govt Offices deny scribbled notes ?

4. Can bank like UBI, State Bank say 'No' to scribbled notes' exchange ?

5. When will RBI bring strict rules against the acts of banks that are leading massive harassments to the common people ?
