AGARTALA, August 7 (TIWN): A construction agency from Nagpur of Maharashtra constructed a road with new technology for the first time in the state. DM Abhishek Chandra gave the contract to the company, said official source.
The agency constructed the road on experimental basis adjoining two villages of Unakoti district. Sources said, the then DM Abhishek Chandra gave the contract of 5 km long road within the two villages to AALA Technical Sevices Private Limited from Nagpur of Maharashtra.
The agency constructed the road at Deewanbari village under Machmara area of Pencharthal block. In an interview, one official source of the agency said that he started the work for the first time at two blocks from May 25. Similar work was done at Gournagar block.
He further said that the machines and equipments of the agency can construct 500 to 700 km long road within the width of 3 metre. The first time work of the agency in Tripura was scheduled to complete earlier. But, it has not been completed due to rains. The work of coating is yet to complete. The officials expect the work to complete before Durga Puja. He opined that the technology could be utilized for other roads in the state.
