AGARTALA, August 6 (TIWN): The malaria epidemic further escalated in Dhalai district with one more person diagnosed with malaria parasite during a health camp at Raipasa Anganwadi centre under Ambassa block.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Sanjay along with the members of All Tripura Junior Doctors’ Association organized a health camp. The persons attending the health camp underwent health check-up and blood tests out of which one person was detected positive. Among the attending persons, 30 were fever patients and 130 underwent treatment.
District CMO said, at least 130 patients were admitted in 17 hospitals (including 14 sub centres), out of which 45 are malaria patients and are undergoing treatment. Dr. Biswas said, “Soon after getting the news of child death from malaria in Biswaram Para, PWD, Water Resource and Health Department led by DM Dr. Milind Ramteke recently conducted a joint visit to the spot.
After arriving at the village, the infected persons were sent to District Hospital”. Besides, Dr. Ramteke directed to install pure drinking water source in the area. Besides, Dr. Ramteke visited each malaria prone zone and affected areas.
