AGARTALA, August 5 (TIWN): Evacuation of hawkers continued by Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC).Today mission launched by AMC again in Kaman Chowhumani, which is the heart of Agartala city. The mission will continue till night-says Executive Engineer of Central Zone Arun Roy.

On August 2, the evacuation was started from the same zone, but due to the lack of infrastructure, it was not been completed, said Executive Engineer Mr Roy. Speaking to TIWN Mr. Roy also told that the ongoing evacuation mission will continue everyday in other parts also. It is seen that even after first phase, hawkers refused to move from their standpoint. That’s why today again the mission continues at Kaman Chowhumani.

On 2^nd August around 50 hawkers have been evacuated from Kaman Chowhumani to Post Office Chowhumani.”Yesterday also AMC held evacuation at the illegal shops of Battala area out of which most of them are fruit shops. The mission will also continue at Paradise chowhumani- says the official.
