AGARTALA, Aug 5 (TIWN): Manik Sarkar led CPI-M Govt’s apathy towards hapless SSA teachers continue as no Ministers or high officials so far visited ailing ‘hunger strike’ teachers at Agartala. After Bastab Debbarma fell sick along with 22 others, the health condition of many SSA teachers are further deteriorating. More 5 SSA teachers have shifted at IGM on Saturday, after they collapsed. The condition of other SSA teachers sat in hunger strike are not at all well and need saline immediately. The teachers from Aug-1 had sat in hunger strike in demand of regularization, but till day not no Education Dept. high official has visited the teachers. The state govt not only deprived the SSA teachers, but also allegedly looted Rs. 5000 per month from the SSA teachers' salaries. As per the documents shown by SSA teachers, it's clearly said that from 2010-11 the state govt had been brought funds from the Centre on regular basis but it was never given to the teachers.

Apart from that as per the NCTE's modified guideline, after 5 years of a continuous job, the state govt is bound to regularize the teachers. But instead of listening the plea of the teachers the Education Minister simply rubbished their proposal saying 'No state had regularized SSAs". Due to Manik Sarkar's heartless communist mentality, rest of CPI-M Ministers are afraid to come forward to help SSA teachers.

Moreover, on Thursday evening, lameduck Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty sitting at Secretariat accused that SSA teachers are politically biased and till now the Minister hasn't visit  the teachers who are in Hunger Strike since 5 days at Orient Chowmuhani.Doctor advised everyone to shift in the hospital but the teachers denied and "We will die here but will not go  unless our demands are fulfilled". 

"Our demands are not impossible but these are our basic rights. SSA although a Central Project but every months Tripura Gov is grabbing regular basis salaries from the Centre since 2010-11, whereas it's not regularizing the teachers in the state", said teachers.

Recently after Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty held press meet, the SSA teachers raised few points as a reaction over Minister's press conference as : 

1. Addressing the press meet at Orient Chowmuhani, the teachers said,  "In 2010-11 Tripura Govt requested Central Govt to regularize the SSA teachers and Central Govt had regularized them. Funds have been also being sanctioned in SSA teachers' names, whether it's not announced by the State Govt". 

2. The teachers of SSA also said, "Education Minister said no state has regularized SSA teachers. He should ask Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Himachal govts regarding this and he will get his answer".

3. There is no function of Central Govt for regularizing the SSA teachers. Central Govt will give the salaries, but regularization is fully upto the state govt.

4. Central Govt clearly said it has no problem in fund sanctioning if a state regularizes them.

5. "When state govt is saying SSA teachers do not qualify the NCTE guideline, then why the govt is not taking action against those officials who appointed us ? It was you who appointed us", said teachers.

6. "Tripura Govt also deprived the teachers to complete their teachers' training", alleged the SSA teachers.

7. "If we don't come under NCTE then how the science graduates come under it ? They were appointed long after we were appointed", asks teachers.

8.  Till 31st March, 2015 TET has been relaxed for Tripura.

9. "If SSA is under Central Project, how DRDA employees are working on regular basis ? Because, one of Tripura Minister's son-in-law is working under it", said SSA teachers.

10. From 2009 all the teachers' training have to be filled up by the state govt itself,

11. In the cabinet Bhanulal Saha himself accepted that SSA teachers are getting salaries on regular basis.

The SSA teachers to continue their hunger strike until they are regularized.
