SONAMURA, Aug 4 (TIWN): An old priest was seriously injured when a maruti van had hit him suddenly on Friday.

The victim is Manindra Chakraborty, a famous priest at Ramthakur Asram, who on his bicycle was to the way of temple.

It was on Friday morning that in a reckless mode, the vehicle bearing number TR01AG1816 had hit the old man and left him with serious injuries.

Later, Ramthakur area's local people handed over the vehicle to police at Sonamura.

But the driver had escaped from the spot.
