AGARTALA, Aug 2 (TIWN): A total 44 SSA teachers have been continued their hunger strike on day 2 with a huge response from the SSA teachers working across the Govt schools. Total 44 teachers are in strike, whereas many SSA teachers are coming to meet them and delivering speeches to encourage them. But surprisingly, the role of Tripura Govt is just empty here. Talking to the strikers demonstrating at Paradise Chowmuhani, they alleged neither any political party members nor any govt official has been visited there eventhough the strike was held amid the full knowledge of the state govt. Minimum health service or visit of a doctor is expected when public are in hunger strike. But instead of doing that rather rumours are spreading that the hunger strikers are eating full plate foods, whereas SSA teachers have been seating for day-night on the spot. There are 44 people who are having no food since 2 days, but no govt official bothered to meet the SSA teachers even though their demands are truthful.
In this regard, letters today have neem sent to the Governor, MHRD, Prime Minister and also again to the CM.
Talking to the SSA teachers, it has been known that from 2010-11 the teachers were already made regular but the notification has been hidden and also the regular salaries are not given to them.
Moreover, as per MHRD guideline after 5 years of jobs, state govt are bound to regular them but instead of doing that, the state govt has dumped all the allegation upon the central govt.
Point is : atleast state govt should send the offer of regularization to the central govt & show what the central govt replied.
SSA teachers have wore white to mean their protest is 'peaceful'.
Expectedly, the number of hunger strikers to increase more in coming days.
