AGARTALA, 4th August (TIWN): Golden Girl of India, Dipa Karmakar arrived at her hometown today after splendid achievement in Commonwealth Games as First Indian woman athlete in clinching a bronze medal. State's Sports Minister welcomed her but State's chicken hearted welcome is visible as Chief Minister and other senior Ministers avoided meeting and welcoming Dipa. However Dipa will visit Secretariat to meet CM at 6.30pm Monday evening. At around 9.35am Dipa along her coach Biseshwar Nandi arrives at Agartala Airport. Media and fans throng to the airport premises, only to see the State's golden girl. Director of Sports Council Kamal Saha welcomed her with a flower bouqet. Talking to the media persons, Dipa expressed her gratitude towards the people and said that because of the blessings of the State people this tremendous achievement became possible.

After that, a huge bike rally alongwith Dipa and her coach travelled around the City roads. School children and local people gathered along the roads to accord her a warm welcome. Many of them also greeted her with flowers, sweets. Then the rally entered the Umakanta Mini Stadium. There a small welcome ceremony was organized. Sports Minister Shahid Chaudhury, Chairman of Tripura Gymnastic Association, Samir Chakraborty  and many other dignatories were also present in the Stadium.

Minister Sahid Chaudhury greeted Dipa and her coach with flower bouqet. Sri Chaudhury said,”Dipa is now not only the girl of Tripura, she is the girl of whole nation. We expect that in coming Asian Games, she will bring golden medal for India.” “Whole Tripura is along with Dipa and wishes her success.”-he further added.

Dipa greeted the people said that blessing of the people had made the success. She will be little bit more  happy if she could bring gold medal and expects that in Asian Games, if gold medal is not possible, she at least try to achieve silver medal. Coach Biseshwar told that, In the Coming Asian Games he will try every possibilities to help Dipa in achieving gold medal.

Coach further added that Asian Games will start at 8^th August. They will fly out on 7^th August.
