AGARTALA, Aug 1 (TIWN): Police, TSR controlled the situation by lathi charge and tear gas after the angry mass attacked the police with stones and sticks in hands.

The attack and gherao of police station was fully a sudden activity and police couldn't get time to prepare.

Later lathi charge had controlled the situation, whereas tear gas also remained helpful. Section 144 has been implemented at there.

The tribal community there also raised question, 'Why police can't arrest the kidnapper ?'
