AGARTALA. July 30 (TIWN): 7 months ahead of the Assembly Election, when opposition BJP is busy in booth level works to defeat state's strongest political party CPI-M that is ruling the state for last 24 years here, SC Morcha Observer for Tripura Shruti Bangaru Laxmi while delivering speech on the occasion of celebrating Ram Nath Kovind's becoming the President said at Rabindra Bhawan, "By next year, state wants to see Biplab Deb as the CM of Tripura". However, this was the first time that any party member delivered comments about favourite candidate for the Chief Minister. When earlier media also asked Tripura State BJP top leaders at the party office 'Who is BJP's CM candidate?', they didn't want to stress on the issue and till day remained tightlipped. In this situation whether Shruti Bangaru's comment was any anti-party activity, question raised. Intellectuals are already questioning "How can BJP announce about CM candidate's name publicly, when the election is 7 months left and the party has to work more and more to unseat CPI-M ?"
This programme was conducted by BJP SC Morcha to celebrate the victory of Ram Nath Kovind, who is a Dalit leader and became the President of India. The programme at Rabindra Bhawan was a part of nationwide celebration of Kovind's victory, inaugurated by Binod Kr. Shankar, All India SC Morcha President Binod Shakar on Sunday.
"The hall is gathered only by SC BJP members", claimed Shruti Bangaru. Addressing further, Bangaru said, "It was Tripura BJP President Biplab Deb Ji's wish that the room should be filled up by SC Morcha members and today it's a big success that supporters presence is more than the hall capacity". (Rabindra Bhawan's seat capacity is 3000)
However, with Bangaru's announcement of Biplab Deb as the favourite candidate for Chief Minister, the audience began clapping supporting her offer.
But from BJP topmost leaders till day nothing has been announced like that. A BJP source said, "Anything can be happened, as the CM will be selected fully based on Central BJP's decision. Apart from Ministry, Party also needs strong leaders for party activities and only time will say who will become what. Right now BJP is busy with booth level works".
