AGARTALA, July 28 (TIWN): With the shutdown of ONGC Tripura may undergo heavy crisis for 20 days since August-19. The shutdown will affect Udaipur based Palatana OTPC project heavily as along with ONGC OTPC will remained closed for 20 days at a stress. However, talking to Power Minister Manik Dey in this regard, he couldn't say anything clearly about the upcoming situation but just said, "We are arranging something alternative". But what will this 'alternative' it was not clear whereas the Minister said 'Govt is thinking over it'. When asked whether state would face any load shedding problem during that period, Minister just remained mute without any confirmation saying 'alternative management to be done'.
"What to do as this is a yearly maintenance work. They also have visitors from outside", said Dey. Asking about whereas NEEPCO will be affected by this shutdown, Dey said, "Only Udaipur based Palatana will be affected so far".

On Wednesday ONGC Asset Manager S C Soni announced that Tripurabased  ONGC to go for long 20 days shutdown in Tripura from Aug-19 due to their yearly maintenance.

On the other side, due to lack of maintenance the Govt plants have remained in pathetic shape leaving no chance of giving backup to the power crisis. The relation with NEEPCO has already killed as the Govt is not clearing bills properly, neither supplying gas properly from ONGC. Moths after months, NEEPCO remains shutdown due to ONGC's excuse of 'lack of gas'.

In this condition, what "Alternative" arrangement will be done by state power dept. it's to be seen. However, loadshedding in Tripura has turned a common agenda, although in the capital city it's not felt much.
