AGARTALA, July 24 (TIWN): The hunger strike that was scheduled to be held on August 9, has been rescheduled from August 1st, but with a surprise of "Hunger Strike till Death".
Their demand will be to being regularized under State Govt. Also a rally was organized in the Capital City voicing against the long deprivation to the contractual govt employees.
Earlier Assam, Nagaland, Manipur Govts had regularized their contractual SSA, RMSA teachers, but as after many protests and demands the teachers have not been regularized in Tripura, thus the protest scheduled has been modified as 'hunger strike' till death from Aug-1.
The teachers said, "In 2013, the SSA project had begun in Tripura, Presently there are 5,145 teachers working in SSA and more 660 staffs are there. We have been demanding for being regularized since decade, but instead of regularizing us and listening our pleas, the govt has left our futures with much uncertainties".
The strike was announced by Association President Bastav Debbarma in the afternoon.
