AGARTALA, August 3 (TIWN): A massive burglary in the century old Kali temple at the Kailashahar town, the district headquarters of Unakoti district, about 190 km from here has sparked off widespread resentment among the Hindu people living in the town.
According to a report received here, the burglars used some unknown chemicals to open the door of the temple and lifted all gold and silver jewelries of the Kali statue last night. Police engaged dog squad from today morning to track down the burglars.
However, no one was arrested so far. Meanwhile, ‘Hindu Jagaran Mancha’, a platform of the Hindus organized a procession to put pressure on the administration to intensify police operations.
