UDAIPUR, August 2 (TIWN): Minister for DWS & Tourism Department Ratan Bhowmik inaugurated the IT Based Consumer Service for Udaipur Municipal Area. This is a part of Re-structured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme (R-APDRP) Part A programme. This is an IT application for energy accounting/auditing & IT based consumer service within Udaipur Municipal Area at Udaipur Electrical Sub-Division.MLA Madhab Saha was the Chief Guest on this occasion.
DM Gomati Sonal Goal, Tripura State Electricity Corporation Ltd (TSECL) CMD Shyamal Kr Roy and Asst General Manager, TSECL Mahanada Debbarma ornamented the chairs of Guests of Honour. Udaipur Municipal Council Chairman Manila Das presided over this programme.
Speaking on this occasion Minister Ratan Bhowmik said that for the last few years state govt and TSECL is looking sincerely to improve the power condition of the state. He said," Electricity is the pillar of civization and its development. At present power situation is much better than it was even a decade before. UNIT-II of OPTC is expected to generate shortly and NEEPCO too is now in the final stage to start generation from Manarchak and if these become a reality, Tripura will have no power shortage in practical."
TSECL CMD S K Roy said on this occasion," For the last few years TSECL is facing deficit. And this is mainly due to non-payment to electric bills on regular basis. Even Govt organisations are not far from this habit. "He said that is argued that standing in lines to pay electric bills is a drawback for this loss.
However, CMD assured that within next three years TSECL is trying to establish E-bill payment centres in all power stations and sub stations. AGM, TSECL Mahananda Debbarma gave away the Welcome address on this occasion.
