AGARTALA, July 11 (TIWN): Mamata Banerjee on August 9, 2016 visited Tripura. She said on that occasion at Astabol, “I will come back again in this same Astabol-Maydaan, with the victory rally of Trinamool. August 9 was marked with Mahatma Gandhi’s Quite-India-movement and thus 2016’s August 9 was marked by Trinamool Supremo Mamata Banerjee as the ‘Quite Tripura Movement against CPI-M’. On that time TMC’s chairperson Ratan Chakraborty was the chief of Trinamool, but within 8 months of gap, Chakraborty joined BJP saying ‘Mamata Banerjee has chosen wrong people for her party here’.Chakraborty said, "I hugely respect West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and her drive. The way she fought against CPI-M is really praiseworthy. But the persons whom she has chosen as TMC leaders for Tripura are not good people. They are just brokers of CPI-M".
However, finally TMC has been collapsed in Tripura and Ratan Chakraborty’s prediction was correct. On last press meet Sudip Barman said, after TMC General Secretary Patha Chatterjee asked Trinamool to cut relation with 5 Tripura MLAs from the party that since last 1 and half months TMC is not contacting with Tripura Trinamool and Mamata Banerjee is so busy that she has no time for Tripura Trinamool.
Sudip Barman also claimed that Trinamool at West Bengal even doesn’t ask Tripura Trinamool to share views, comment in any issue and freely aligning with CPI-M that ruined TMC’s vote banks in Tripura.
Mamata Banerjee earlier said, ‘Where CPI-M, I’m not there which called us to form Trinamool in Tripura. Then why today this sudden change? And till day no advise from Tripura Trinamool has been taken although this is our election time. We know about TMC’s decision from the newspapers. Same was with GST’.
‘Why did you change your stand to wipe out tooth and nail of CPI-M’?, Barman told Mamata Banerjee via this press conference.
But after all these it’s to be seen how far BJP benefited from Barman’s existence in the party.
