AGARATAL, July 7 (TIWN): A national sharing experience workshop was held at Rabindra Bhawan under Indo-German Development Cooperation Project.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar had inaugurated the workshop in the presence of Forest Minister Naresh Jamatia and other deelegates. An photo-gallery was also organized on that occasion.
The IGDC Project Tripura was incepted in February 2009 under the bilateral cooperation between Government of India and The Federal republic of Germany and is being implemented by the Government of Tripura with Financial and technical assistance from the Kf.
The natural resource management programme has two primary objectives (1)to contribute to the socio economy development of the beneficiaries( especially ST/SCs and others minorities)and (2)ecological resilience of the target area. The project has since then evolved as a multi dimensional and diversified umbrella programme for NRM and Livelihood in the two socio- economically challenged Districts of the State the Dhalai and North Tripura Disticts.
During the course of its implementation the project has not only witnessed successes at varied labels but has also systematically documented the vast learning acquired during its implementation .Given that the termination of the current project is nearing it is felt worthwile to share the experiences gained in the project with other stakeholders from across the State to build upon the leverage these learning. The workshop shall also allow project stakeholders to get benefitted from rich implementation experiences of other sectors (NRLM,Livelihood)specialists from across the Country.
