AGARTALA, June 24 (TIWN): The bomb recovery issue that has generated panic across Agartala ahead of Eid & Ratha-Yatra celebrations, has successfully brought under control. Talking to SP West Abhijit Saptarshi he told TIWN that nothing is yet confirmed whether those were bombs or not, but they were covered by sellotapes and plastic. The packet was taken towards by-pass and later it would be destroyed. Asking about the security, Saptarshi said, "Security has already been beefed up but I think there is nothing to panic. The situation is fully under control and safe". On the background of the incident it's worthy to mention here that 3 bombs were found at Agartala on Saturday, near the oldest mosque named Gedu Mia Masjid, that created panic among the common people here. In the morning, local people found a sack left in mysterious way near by the mosque. They immediately informed the police giving an alter about it. Police rushed to the spot and informed bomb squad team.
Bomb squad team arrived the spot and immediately had shifted the bombs from there. Such an incident has created panic across Shib Nagar area.
The security has been tightened further to ensure the safety, said East police station official over phone.
The situation is under control and yet no untoward incident has been reported so far. SP confirms the public that nothing to panic and the situation in Agartala is fully normal.
