KAMALPUR, June 10 (TIWN): The pre-monsoon shower already casted heavy impact on the life and living of the people of the state. Many areas have been flooded, people died, vehicular movements disrupted.

But besides those early imact, the pre-monsoon shower also left a greater impending doom especially for the inhabitants of Dhalai, Unakoti and North districts.

These three districts largely depend on NH 08, the erstwhile NEC road for easy accessibility with the capital of Agartala. But the present condition of that road and more specifically the Kamalpur-Kumarghat part remained at the risk of being unusable at any moment.

During the shower of the last week, the roadside highlands slided at several places and the soils heaped on the road made it narrower.

Moreover it created artificial obstacles for the drivers which might cause serious and even life-snatching accidents. More alarmingly, the process of slowly removing the heaped soil also made the road dangerously slippery and the highlands also remained alarming as a little shower again would cause further landslides.
