AGARTALA, June 2 (TIWN): Tension increased as the flood like situation is worsening at Agartala and some other places of the state. Rescue operation team is already in action to control this emergency situation as weather dept has announced more rainfalls in coming days. Due to excessive flood river banks of Howarh is destroying and the number of flood victims are also increasing. Cattle are the worst sufferers along with farmers, households. Electricity disrupted and most of the electric poles, trees fell down like small creatures. Deputy speaker Pabitra Kar in the morning had visited the flood victimized areas at Khayerpur. But the GB area which had never flooded earlier has also gone under water due to AMC's negligence in drain maintenance. After June 3, a marginal decrease in rains over northeastern states but the weather will not remain completely dry.
As the effect of Cyclone Mora subsided, the intensity of rains over northeastern states have reduced but still many areas are receiving light to moderate thunderstorm activities.
Now a trough will persist from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to North Bay Bengal leading to increasing in moisture over northeastern states.
Monsoon has already reached Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and parts of Arunachal Pradesh & expectedly Monsoon to advance further and is most likely to cover the remaining parts of Northeast India in next three to four days.
