AGARTALA, May 31 (TIWN): Tripura Govt’s double game with Minority vote banks once again exposed when it declared about not to execute new cattle slaughter rules in Tripura. Amidst utter silence about Triple Talak like issues, CPI-M’s anti-Gorakhsha movement goes on across nation giving a strict warning to CPI-M ruled Tripura BJP, VHP. "The new cattle trade and slaughter rules framed by the central government are against the interest of the people. We will not carry out the new rules”, Tripura's Agriculture and Animal Resource Development Minister Aghore Debbarma said. Even Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said that due to BJP led Central Govt’s intervention minority’s food culture is getting interrupted, but what surprising is that he never voiced for the Muslim women’s distress they face in the society.

In this regard BJP govt was much clear about views either for Go-raksha or for Triple Talak.

On May-8, Tripura CPI-M Spokesperson Goutam Das expressing CPI-M’s much resentment said, "Today Narendra Modi is showering sympathy for Muslim Women, but he himself gave Triple Talak to his wife within a month of marriage, but never accepted back her in his life".  Question raised after Das’s statement that CPI-M being secular in ideology supported Tripll\e Talak as they are ready to attack the Prime Minister of India if necessary to preserve Triple Talak for Muslim vote banks?

But National BJP President Amit Shah on Saturday said on May-6 during his 2 day visit in Tripura that BJP was much clear about its stand on Triple Talak and said Triple Talak is not fit for healthy society and it snatches the constitutional rights of a woman. Shah who visited Tripura for a 2 day long visit talked about various sensitive including Triple Talak. "It hurts the constitutional rights of women in Muslim society but the case is going on at SC which was filed by a woman & Govt gave stand on it. Let's wait for the SC verdict", said Shah to media here.

But claiming state is not bound by Central rules Tripura Agriculture Minister Aghore Debbarma said, The central government is yet to send us the new cattle trade and slaughter rules. They did not consult us on this issue."

"If people are not able to sell their cattle how will they take care of livestock when it turns unnecessary for them? How will it be determined that the cattle being purchased from the market is for slaughtering?" said Debbarma, also the member of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) central committee. With the aim to prevent cruelty to animals, the union Forest, Environment and Climate Change Ministry last week modified rules making it mandatory to ensure that cattle are not bought or sold at cattle markets for slaughtering. The list of animals includes cows, bulls, buffaloes, heifers, calves as well as camels. The ruling CPI-M also strongly censured the central government's new cattle slaughter rules.

Note about the actual rule of Central Govt : As per the rule, consumerism of cows must be followed by slaughter house, but not illegally in open markets. Traders have to now procure from farmers directly and send them to slaughter houses without taking the animals to markets.
