AMARPUR, July 25 (TIWN): In a tragic road mishap in Tripura, SDM of Gandacherra sub-division including his personal security guards and driver of the vehicle received grievous injuries on their persons at Kalacherra under Birganj police station around 6.00 am, this morning. The all injured persons are under treatment now.

According to the police, the incident took place while the SDM was proceeding towards Agartala with his official vehicle bearing the number- TR04-0805 collided with a sand carrying lorry bearing the number- AS-25C-2926 at Jamatia colony of Kalacherra area under Amarpur sub-division. As a result, all three persons of the vehicle were injured seriously.

After receiving the information police of Birganj police station rushed to the place of occurrence and sent the injured persons to Amarpur government hospital. Of late, they were referred to the GBP hospital after conducting first aid, said police.

However, the driver of the lorry escaped from the place after the accident. Police seized the lorry and registered a specific case in this regard.
