AGARTALA, July 24 (TIWN): Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) undertakes initiative for civic infrastructure development in North and Central Zones of the city. AMC officials said markets, parking zone, drainage system and water reservoirs will be covered under the programme. In the North zone, two vegetable markets are under construction in two-storey shopping complex at Durga Chowmohani and likely to be completed by August to facilitate the shifting of present market immediately after completion, officials stated.
Altogether, 80 stalls in ground floor and 125 stalls in first floor will be unlocked in the market besides, parking zone and drainage will be added in Rs 444.36 lakh project.
Another vegetable market is coming up on 9000 square feet area at Maharajganj market. This construction was started on December 06, last year and expected to be completed by December, 2015 next. This market will be consisting 88 rooms while an amount of Rs 2, 25, 78, 087 will be spent for the construction.
In addition, AMC took initiative to establish a new fish market on 828 square meter area at Battala which will be consisting over 115 fish stalls. This construction is likely to be completed by March, 2016 and Rs 2, 09, 66, 443 will be spent for the construction.
In the Central zone, construction for stalls in two-storey building at Circuit House, concrete road and drain construction at South Indranagar and construction for composed fertilizer factory at Debendra Chandra Nagar are in progress. Out of 800 meter concrete road and drain, construction for 700 meter is being completed.
