Complaints to be lodged against Panchayat members indulging in corruption: Bijan Dhar

AGARTALA, July 24 (TIWN): General people or any Panchayat members are at liberty to lodge complaint against any member of three-tier Panchayat if they are found indulging in any kind of corruption even misbehavior with the general people, said Bijan Dhar, CPI (M) state secretary and added that he wish to give this democratic right to members of different levels of the CPI (M) party. Dhar said this while speaking at the condolence meeting of former CPI (M) Divisional Secretary Gopesh Debnath at Kailasahar Town Hall.

Bijan Dhar, CPI (M) state secretary advocated of lodging complaint against any member of three-tier Panchayat if they are found indulging in any kind of corruption. He also said that the complainant should mention their names and address while complaining about any member of the Panchayat, but their identity will remain under carpet.

Dhar also stressed on formation of small committees to implement any product for the rural development adding the opposition party members should be included in the committee.

“The members should take the critics in a positive way to develop them in future. They should work with purity and not involve in any kind of corruption. The local people should be made aware of the future perspective plan,” said Dhar.

The fund meant for implementation of any scheme should be used properly and if any amount remains unspent, it should be submitted in the Panchayat fund.  

 

State Secretariat Committee member – Tapan Chakraborty advised the party members to follow the footsteps of Gopesh Debnath.
