AGARTALA, 23 July, (TIWN): BJP Tripura State unit launched agitation across the state on Wednesday to attack on their Party President Sudhindra Dasgupta last evening. However, SP (Sepahijala) S R Das has suspended an Assistant Sub Inspector Swapan Kar for alleged negligence of his duty when BJP president was gheroed and mob pelted stone and bricks on his vehicle.

The party officials decided to meet Director General of Police (DGP) demanding immediate action against the post Panchayat poll violence allegedly perpetrated by CPI-M cadre. As many as 200 party workers including women were injured in poll related violence in the state.

On Tuesday evening, CPI-M party supporters attempted to kill State BJP President Dasgupta and five of the party leaders in South Maheshpur under Dhanpur constituency of Sonamura but they escaped narrowly.

BJP supporters blocked the road near Police Headquarters at night and this is continued today across the state. Meanwhile, CPI-M registered a case against Sudhindra Das Gupta in Jatrapura police station alleging that the car hit four CPI-M party supporters on the way of South Maheshpur at the afternoon.

 And the supporters chased vehicle, but they failed. They alleged, Mr Dasgupta abused them and finally lodged false complaints with the police against the party workers.
