AGARTALA, July 23 (TIWN): Urban Development Minister Manik Dey on Wednesday in a blood donation camp organized by AMC at Agartala City Centre expressed dissatisfaction over the service provided by Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC). He opined, AMC should upgrade the quality service, as mandated from the city administration. “No doubt AMC has developed services for the city and a section of employees have been working relentlessly for the development of the city and it's citizen but a small group of AMC employees are reportedly unwilling to carry out their responsibilities appropriately that lower down the quality of the corporation and also makes people unhappyâ€, he observed.
He asked to keep the city clean all round the year and employees need to perform their duties in an expected manner. The importance of the city is gaining ground gradually and expectation of the dwellers are also getting higher pace of demand; so AMC should work with full dedication and honesty for the development of the city.
Dey however, claimed there is no dearth of resources in AMC. The state government has been providing all the necessary equipment and fund to AMC as per the requirements the government only expect AMC should not go backward in terms of quality service in Agartala. He instructed AMC to formulate the plan and implement it by September 10 next,so that the city becomes attractive during Durga Puja.
