AGARTALA, May 10 (TIWN): Reacting on Goutam Das’s comment that BJP’s election promise about 7th pay commission will not be fulfilled even if BJP comes in power, opposition BJP on Tuesday launched ‘Signature Campaigning’ for all the Govt Employees in support of 7th Pay Commission. As per the campaigning motto all the Govt Employees of the state will be asked to sign if they want 7th pay commission to be implemented in Tripura, BJP State Observer said. ‘I had promised the employees that if BJP comes in power, then within 6 months 7th Pay Commission will be implemented, then State President Biplab Deb after discussing with the Central Govt announced it with 3 months, but new circulation has come that after the first cabinet meeting the 7th pay commission will be implemented. CPI-M spokesperson Goutam Das on Monday citing example of Congress era said, “In Congress Era P Chidambaram campaigned in Tripura about various salary hike issues and pay commissions’ implementation but after the election was over then CPI-M Ministers met him and asked about pay commission, but he didn’t fulfill our demands. In the same manner BJP will also not implement pay commission… all these are just for coming in power”.

The 7th pay commission has been the long cherished dream for all Govt employees in Tripura, but after 4th pay commission, no pay commission was implemented in Tripura under left front govt.

Recently Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha announcing a Rs. 600 crores of budget set a pension & salary review committee which generated multiple political / non-political protests across the state.

In this situation, opposition BJP is repeatedly promising about 7th pay commission turning heavy upon the ruling CPI-M.

On the other hand Bhanulal Saha review committee is yet undecided about the salary structure which may satisfy the Govt Employees.

BJP National President Amit Shah said, “7th Pay Commission have been implemented in all the BJP states, why not in Tripura ? It’s a shame for CPI-M Govt that it could not implemented 7th pay commission when maximum states are enjoying”

BJP is also expecting a huge response from 1.5 lakhs govt employees in this signature campaigning.
