AGARTALA, May 1 (TIWN): Eventhough Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar challenging private interference in Economy said that 'PPP model is a bogus model chosen by Govt of India', but being the Chief Minister of a state for 19 years, when CPI-M's ruling here for long 24 years, Sarkar has totally failed to uplift the society and to develop the economy. CPI-M policy has killed the economy, reaped the gross domestic production, caused destruction of agriculture and gifted the state with 7.2 lakhs of unemployed youths amidst increasing price hike in the market. May Day whereas mainly dedicated for the working class of the society, but since 24 years of attempts the ruling govt led by communist has failed to curb the inequality, rather with the fall of agriculture the source of income has also been paralyzed in Tripura. Either talk about small industries like Jute Mill or Govt run bamboo mission---- CPI-M Govt has failed everywhere.
Earlier Tripura was self sufficient in food production as well as Bamboo cultivation and other domestic productions, but Communist Era reverse the business with Ganja cultivation, rubber plantation etc & illegal smuggling and 7.2 lakhs of unemployed youths.
'Industry should not harm the peace of the society', said Manik Sarkar in various programmes. But what alternative of Industry could CPI-M could launch to prove their Marxism as the best economic policy ?
In this regard opposition parties pointed out if due to Congress and BJP's interest in Capitalism at Centre CPI-M could not develop Tripura then they should take retirement finally as already CPI-M has been banished finally by the communist era.
CPI-M ruled Tripura’s GDP growth rate is only 7 %, which is the lowest in the whole country even worse than Jharkhand and any North Eastern States.
In 2016, Sep 23rd, in the same day when Manik Sarkar sad that PPP is a bogus model, one NITI Ayog member Bibek Debroy said, “How far the Central can push a state govt for development ? Every developed state known for their own quality'.
Moreover, Tripura reported India’s highest unemployment rate, 25.2% in urban areas, followed closely by Nagaland in 2011-12.
It's worthy to mention here that the economic system of communism puts all planning of the economy in the hands of the government. A communist society distributes ownership of property evenly among every member, but dept-wise corruptions left Tripura's development fully paralyzed either in MGNREGA work progress or PWD constructions.
