From Tripura, Gomati Dist DM was called by PMO and reportedly has been awarded for Fasal Bima Yojna Programming. PM’s speech was motivating, “We want our sugarcane farmers to prosper. They exploitation is not acceptable. Our Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana ensures minimum premium & maximum insurance”. Talking to DM Gomati after he had attended the programme at New Delhi, Krishi Bhawan on Friday, he told TIWN over phone, “There was a meeting among the Dist Officials and the Prime Minister himself about Fasal Bima Yojna”. He also mentioned, "The programming under Fasal Bima Yojna remained successful for Gomati Dist among 12 of the selected Districts throughout the country". The programme was live telecasted in Gomati Dist Office, drew much attentions.
It’s worthy to mention here that Gomati Dist Magistrate after joining as the new DM of the Dist during an interview told TIWN that agriculture will be the prime focus of his administration. Ravel Hamendra Kumar (IAS) who was turned tough for Tripura NHM corrupted officials was transferred to Gomati Dist as the Dist Magistrate in a major reshuffle. However, atleast with the ending of corrupted era of IAS Official Sonal Goel as the DM Gomati some developments came in the Dist. with PM has congratulated the DM for better performance in Agriculture.
However, this was also an attempt on behalf of PM Modi to directly motivate the DMs of the states.
Earlier, with North Tripura Dist DM, PM had held a talk via telephone regarding NH-44 repairing and instead of sending the money in PWD it was directly transferred in North DM Sandeep Mahatme’s account.
On March 19, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Radha Mohan Singh has arrived in Tripura as a part of inspecting the status of Agriculture growth in state.
The last budget, was mainly focused on agriculture; and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley challenged to double the income of the farmers. However, along with the 9 pillars of agricultural growth, various schemes were launched for the farmers, but under CPI-M Govt in Tripura the farmers have failed to bring any growth in their yearly production, resulting burning price of vegetables throughout the whole year, experienced by the common men.
