AGARTALA, April 18 (TIWN): Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy on Tuesday at Agartala NIT while addressing the 'Alumni Endowment Lecture-2017' said that the Engineering Colleges across India are lacking visions heavily. Being an Engineer in his early life, who had enormous dedication in building Constructive Engineering Dept at Yadavpur University & also proven as an active manpower during Kolkata Metro Construction, claimed that either Govt Colleges or Engineering Colleges, they lack the 'inspiration' factor somehow. 'In case of Govt Colleges, due to lack proper infrastructure or the motivation the colleges somehow remains as regional colleges', Governor said adding NIT's distant with the main city. "In case of Private College, if we speak, they all are busy in money making. Obviously money making is not bad, as the colleges are generating employments too, but the inspirational factors can not be sidelined", Governor added. However, while talking about the key factors in building an institution, Governor said the money must go for infrastructure first.

"Second aspect is  the "Vision" which needs to set from the beginning. The builder has to have a clear idea about his institution's future and his targets should be very clear. If we see from religion vision, it was Swami Vivekananda, who set the visions & with that single vision, the mission is till day working. Infact they never receive donation of immovable properties", said the Governor.

"This vision, should be based on 'Selflessness'. If an organization is self centered then, it will abolish soon",  Governor added.

Governor was attending a programme at NIT on the occasion of  'Alumni Endowment Lecture-2017'. National Institute of Technology, Agartala, shortened to NIT Agartala or NITA, is a technology-oriented institute of higher education established by India's Ministry of Human Resource Development Government of India in Agartala.
