AGARTALA, July 15, (TIWN): The state election commission has postponed voting in two village Panchayats each in Kadamtala block of North Tripura and Bishalgarh under Sepahijala districts today due to wrongly printing of ballot papers, said election commissioner Y Kumar. He said at the beginning of the polling at 7am today the poll officials found the mistakes of symbols in the ballot papers and immediately the commission announced the rescheduling the election. However, the date of next polling in the particular booths has not yet been announced.

Kumar indicated that the polling will be held before the counting on Friday.

According to him, polling started brisk in the morning across the state and there was no untoward incident reported so far.

The rough estimation says, at least 70 percent of the votes exercised their franchise in ballot for electing the representatives for 14 Zilla Parisad, 35 Panchayat Samity and 540 village Panchayats out of the contesting 13,754 candidates from different political parties.

Meanwhile, CPI-M candidates have already elected in 980 village Panchayat seats, 38 Panchayat Samity and two Zilla Parisad seats without any contest.
