AGARTALA, April 9 (TIWN): As a part of silent protest against Tripura's increasing crime against women, a groups of unknown artists painted the roads before Rabindra Bhawan, symbolizing the tortures upon women. To symbolize the suicide attempts by women in Tripura, they hanged multiple frocks on the mango tree at Rabindra Bhawan. A source said that a non-political organization named 'Oaths Jagaran/ Artists Unemployed' on Saturday night had done this and the unemployed artists organization held multiple protests earlier voicing against unemployment. However, people are visiting at Rabindra Bhawan premises to have a glimpse of their painting and art. Tripura has recorded with 3 suicides in a day, whereas maximum are women in committing suicide. But, amidst much sufferings, tortures against women Tripura celebrates International Women’s Day every year. Tripura girl Dipa has shined in Olympic with Produnova vault, Laxmita Reang another legend in athlete, Surabhi Debbarma as singer, but apart from that part Tripura's 86 % women are tortured day to day.

Everyday 3 women are tortured here and 2 commit suicide. In this situation, when state is undergoing such a crisis situation, the artists works was praiseworthy at Rabindra Bhawan. 

Recently, addressing a press meet, BJP State President Biplab Deb said that everyday 2 rapes held in Tripura whereas 1 minor girl is raped here per day and the murder of rape victim is the most dangerous crimes increasing in Tripura. However, BJP also claimed that due to lack of proper security and CPI-M's supports for their party members regardless rapists are turning the situation more critical.

In a recent event, when a 16 years girl Bina Dey was raped and killed at Dharmanagar, just because the rape accused Rajat Tati is the son of CPI-M's women commission's member the Women Commission is targeting the victim family instead of helping.

Opposition Trinamool also raising voice against CM's silence regarding crime against women, when CM is holding the chair of home ministry.

 Apart from that a 7 years girl was brutally raped by her neighbor at Ranir Barar on March-29.  The incident held at West Noagao area. Accused Promod Debnath has been arrested by Ranir Bazar Police and to be produced before the court. Talking to TIWN, SI-Suleman Reang he said, "On Tuesday, evening the victim went with her grandmother at Promod Debnath's house. Her grandmother was talking to Promod Debnath outside the home when the incident took place".

 However, standing in this point when everyday 2 rapes are taking place in Tripura, CM Manik Sarkar (also Tripura Home Minister) said recently, "There is not a single state, single district whereas crime against women does not happen". CM also suggested the society to take responsibly as law can not control everything.

It's worthy to mention here that there was total 446 crime against women only in last 6 months. In July 2016 total 21 rape case were registered, in 2016 August total 22 cases, in 2016 Sept 19 cases, in 2016 Oct 16, November 15, December 18 and in January 17.

Apart from that including all kinds of crime against women as dowry deaths, molestation etc. in July 2016 total cases registered 63, in 2016 August total 82 cases, in 2016 Sept 69 cases, in 2016 Oct 68, November 65, December 61 and in January 58.

Among them 130 rape cases among them 68 were minors and 47 were adults.

2014's crime rate at a glance : Rape : 240, Molestation : 492, Dowry tortures : 493, Kidnapping : 126, Dowry Deaths : 64.

2015's crime rate at a glance : Rape : 213, Molestation : 352, Dowry tortures : 348, Kidnapping : 152, Dowry Deaths : 61.

Moreover, among the accused 3482 people were arrested and 493 are eloping.
