No Pay Commission for employees under Manik's era; Govt constitutes Pay Revision Committee ; Clear hints to deprive the employees of 7th Commission's benefits

AGARTALA, April 6 (TIWN): 10323 Teachers scam tainted CPI-M Govt again deprived state govt employees. As expected Manik Sarkar led state govt has constituted a three members Pay and Pension Revision Committee instead of Pay Commission again as it did in 2009. From the recent statements given by the Finance Minister Bhanu Lal Saha it was clear that the Gov't will not at all constitute Pay Commission. This time the govt has not only goes for Pay Revision but also limits the jurisdiction of work of this so-called 3 members Pay Revision Committee. In its press statement the Govt of Tripura has announced that the three members committee will comprise :- 1) G K Rao,IAS(Rtd),Retired Chief Secretary as Chairman, 2) Sushil Kumar ,IAS,Principal Secretary,Government of Tripura as member, 3) D Modak,Addl Secretary ,Department of Finance as member.

The Committee will work on the following key terms and conditions :-

1) Revision of Pay based upon the pay structure of 2009 revision for the employees covered under the State's pay structure which will include State Govt employees, employees of High Court of Tripura and sub-ordinate judiciary , Tripura Legislative Assembly Secretariat, Tripura Public Service Commission, Grant-in-aid schools, employees of Tripura Board of Secondary Education, Constitutional Bodies

2) Consideration of anomalies in pay scales arising out of 2009 revision

3) DA and formula for future payment of DA, taking into account DA presently sanctioned by the state government

4) Fixation formula revision of pay for the existing employees

5) Revision of pensions, other issues related to retirement benefits of State Government employees.

 It is important to notice that in this press statement govt has categorically given a hint that it will once again deprive the employees and pensioners from their desired benefits saying :-

" The Committee will make recommendations which may be desirable and feasible , keeping in view and having regard to amongst other relevant factors:-

Resource position of the state government and its commitment on development activities ."

 The Committee has been asked to submit their recommendations within a period of 45(forty five) days from the date of notification of its constitution.

 The recommendations shall cover a total of 1,76,073 govt employees and 57688 pensioners.

 And with the constitution of Pay Revision Committee Manik Sarkar led govt's policy of depriving the employees and pensioners has once again exposed because the the employees of of Tripura are bound to be denied of their rights as it has been done through the tenure of Manik Sarkar as Chief Minister.
