AGARTALA, July 12(TIWN): This could well be a trend for the future. The ICFAI university in Agartala is looking to promote itself in Bangladesh big-time.

"We are visiting Bangladesh and looking to  attract students from there for our university in Agartala," says associate dean at the IFCAI business school Ajay Pathak.
Dr Pathak says the ICFAI university at Agartala will be ideal for students from Bangladesh.

"Tripura has a majority East Bengali population and it is next door to Bangladesh. So what better than offering quality Indian management education to students from Bangladesh in a city which is barely 3 to 4 hours by road or train from major cities like Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet and Comilla," Dr Pathak said.

The recent murder of a Muslim techie in Pune has unnerved many students in Bangladesh who aspire to study in Indian management institutions in  mainland India.

"But no such problem exists in Agartala. Nowhere will a Bangladesh student feel more comfortable than in this place," Pathak said.

This is the message he is driving home to Bangladesh educational institutions whose students aspire to study in India.
