AGARTALA, March 22 (TIWN): Possibilities are high that Tripura Rose Valley may come under CBI investigation as the case remained without proper investigation under SIT. Already CBI is time to time keeping eyes on Tripura Rose Valley after following bundles of allegations came against the ruling Govt. On the other hand CBI inquiry may be ordered by Tripura High Court, with the consistent failure of the SIT to submit CBI inquiry. On March 17, after division Bench of acting Chief Justice Nishita Mhatre and Justice T. Chakraborty asked the Central Bureau of Investigation to complete its preliminary inquiry in 72 hours, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee described the Calcutta High Court order for a CBI probe into the Narada sting operation as "unfortunate" and said her government and the Trinamool Congress will move the Supreme Court against the verdict. But on Tuesday, Supreme Court said that it will not interfere in High Court’s order. It will be hardly manageable for SIT to continue its slow investigation in Chit Fund cases pending in Tripura High Court.

In 2015, being disappointed with Tripura police's slow investigation, High Court the then Chief Justice removed Tripura Police from Chit Fund cases, and ordered to form Special Investigation Team or SIT to inquiry against the cases. But already a year has been  passed, SIT could place only 17 chargesheets out of 78 chit fund cases, where RoseValley's name was 'ignored'. In this regard Congress opposition MLA Ratan Lal Nath told TIWN, "If State Govt doesn't want it's not possible for CBI to come in Tripura, but if HC orders for CBI direct investigation, following bundles of dates of hearing with SIT's continuous failure to submit chargesheet, then CBI will take charge of the cases".

Chances of CBI investigation directly in Tripura Rose Valley is much possible, as it's HC that since 2013 was set up in Tripura has been giving shocks of hearings against Tripura Govt's nepotism.

However, after that Manik Govt also will not be able to delay the inquiry as in case of Narada Supreme Court already said it will not interfere in High Court’s judgment.  Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to interfere with the Calcutta High Court order that asked the CBI to conduct a preliminary inquiry into the Narada sting operation. The court described as "harsh" the 72-hour timeline given by the high court to the CBI to complete preliminary enquiry.

Manik Sarkar’s speech during inauguration of Rose Valley’s amusement park in Agartala in 2008, was seen praising the firm and its owner Gautam Kundu stating how the theme park would be a boon for the city and the state as a whole. Manik Sarkar has been accused by the Congress of providing land at subsidised rates to Rose Valley for the amusement park, which he has denied.

As per the data total 78 cases were filed regarding chit fund groups, whereas only 18 chargesheets were submitted by SIT and rest 65 were said as under investigation. But what surprises is that out of 62 chit fund groups only 17 companies offices were seized including Rose Valley, which was seized recently. Apart from that the govt said presently investigation is going on and nothing can be said about selling the properties and returning depositors money.

The way the Tripura  govt avoided CBI inquiry by sending wrong data to CBI, in the same manner SIT also allegedly assisting Rose Valley to stay far from investigation.

Rose Valley is 10 times bigger scam then other scams held in Tripura. But allegedly Tripura Govt sent a wrong data on Rose Valley with a very minimum amount of Rs. 10,000/- and Rs. 5,4000/- on the peak time which led the case to delay

But the oppositions claimed that from the beginning CPI-M has taken plan-wise steps so that Rose Valley never comes under any CBI. In 2013 with an aim to cancel CBI inquiry against Rose Valley the cases were sent with a very minimum account, so that no CBI inquiry could occur in coming future.

Even at High Court also whereas other chit fund companies names were pushed to the Justice’s benches but the SIT missed Rose Valley’s name, even after so much of protests.

Rose Valley and other chit fund cases in Tripura are investigated under SIT  I/C- K.V. Srijesh.
