AGARTALA March 13 (TIWN): TMC & BJP clashes in State capital stooped down to street brawls injuring several supporters and Policemen injured. Prohibitory orders has been clamped down at Agartala after a major clash emerged among Tripura Trinamool, BJP members on Monday night. Tripura’s two rival oppositions BJP and TMC came in clash when BJP as a part of political campaigning was putting flags before former CM Samir Barman’s house at Agartala Hariganga Basak Road. Samir Barman’s son Sandip Roy Barman son asked BJP leaders not to put any flags over there, whereas Bordowali Mandal Committee member of BJP Jayanta Bhowmik refused to do so. Reportedly, Bhowmik was among those leaders who joined BJP from Trinamool along with Surajit Dutta.After the incident BJP members gheroued Samir Barman’s home.
Sooner BJP, TMC both organized protest rallies at Agartala but during their protests before West Police Station a major clash occurred among them which left 20 people injured on spot, including BJP’s Mousumi Bhowmik, Subal Bhowmik with multiple stitches on head.
S/I- Himadri Sarkar was critically injured along with some TMC leaders and few journalists. Panna Deb, TMC leader was also injured.
This incident has triggered tension across the state also as BJP, TMC is holding various protests across the state including Dharmanagar and South Tripura. Presently Section-144 has been implemented at Agartala and security has been beefed up there.
BJP also filed an FIR against Sandip Roy Barman at West Agartala police station and demanding his immediate arrest.
