AGARTALA, March 10 (TIWN): ‘The reason behind Tripura’s undeveloped condition is nothing but lack of hard working govts ever was in state’, said Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at Astabol Stadium, Agartala. Sarbananda Sonowal is visiting Tripura as a part of political campaigning for one day at Astabol Stadium, which BJP has claimed as the biggest ever rally held in Tripura. Terming the rally as a ‘Historic-Rally’, Sonowal said, “I am blessed to visit Ma Tripura Sundari’s land and I pray to Ma Kamksha to bless both the states as from now we all will work together”. Beginning with Tripura’s achievement Sonowal said, “Tripura is historically blessed with great figures as Maharaja Birbikram Manikya, Kirit Bikram Manikya, Sachin Debbarman and now young stars as Dipa Karmakar….. and many others. Today’s Astabol field’s crowd has proven that Tripura’s people are ready to down a corrupt Govt and they want a change. I’m hopeful that BJP will lead the election in 2018”.

“Prime Minister Naarendra Modi is an honest person and following his path we have only received success and developments. The reason behind Tripura’s undeveloped scenario is that there was no hard working govts yet here. All are scheme based beneficiaries and worked for personal benefits”, said Sonowal.

Questioning over Manik Sarkar’s ‘clean-image’, Sonowal said, “Yes he might be a  good person, but he didn’t do anything for development of the state. If he is good person, then why no action has been taken against Chit Fund frauds, ....why there are so much of corruption with Central projected schemes?”.

Citing example of Assam, he said “Assam people has gotten pay-commission, full fledged central schemes benefits. Although Assam produces less power surplus than Tripura, still Assam’s power service is much better than Tripura. 10,000 crores investment was done in Assam in last 6 months just for Industry, but Tripura although have all the potentialities but has failed to build up industries”.

However, he further said that PM Modi is planning to turn Northeast as an Industry Hub in coming days.

It’s worthy to mention here that BJP has organized the rally as a part of protesting a tribal leader Chanmohon Tripura’s murder, which BJP alleged has been done by CPI-M. Along with Chanmohon’s murder, there are similar issues, which BJP raised during the protest.
