AGARTALA, March 10 (TIWN): After a sudden rain for 24 hours, the potatoes have now started rotting heavily, with the heat increased.

The sudden rainfall in major potato-growing parts of Tripura have damaged the crops, resulting a down in its prices too.

Though the actual loss is yet to be ascertained, experts say the sustained, untimely rainfall would have a long-term impact.

When temperatures started rising, the tubers started rotting more.

Meanwhile, prices have started downed to the low supply.

This sudden rain has affected major parts of Sepahijala, South Tripura as well as Northern Tripura.

Panic has gripped the farmers as rain has ruined their hopes of potato business.

Another splash of rain may cause more losses to farmers.
