AGARTALA, March 10 (TIWN): Increasing cattle (Cow) smuggling has hit the borders of Tripura.
Once again Viswa Hindu Parishad (VHP) member via a press meet said that if cattle smuggling is not controlled, there will be mass protest in coming days led by VHP.
Cattle smuggling is radically increasing via Indo-Bangla border of Tripura especially in Sepahijala Dist. On Dec 2 A vehicle was seized by Tripura police with 4 half dead cows inside it.Although police failed to nab the smugglers but vehicle has was recovered, which was reportedly passing via Sonamura border.
Encountering cattle smuggling at Indo-Bangla border under Sephajala Dist. one Muslim man was killed when BSF troopers, while on patrol along the India-Bangladesh border in Tripura, opened fire suspecting him to be a smuggler police said here on March 24.
Sonamura Border area become the corridor of smuggling cows and buffaloes to Bangladesh for last few months. Cattle smuggling rising day by day through Indo Bangla Border by smugglers under Sonamura Sub Division. Then using different routes, they reach the border area and smuggle them at night. But the official claims are different from Tripura Police.
