AGARTALA, March 8 (TIWN): Tripura Social Welfare Dept has celebrated International Women's Day-2017 on Wednesday.

In this regard a conference was held at Rabindra Bhawan.

ICA Minister Bhanulal Saha was present on that occasion as the Chief Guest of the programme.

Tripura Commission for Women's chairperson Manika Dutta Roy said, "Due to patriarchy in our society, women are victimized everyday. They need supports to stand in their feet. Unless and until women are financially capable, women empowerment will not come".

A huge number of working women remained present on that occasion.
