AGARTALA, March 5 (TIWN): Once again question has raised over Agartala City’s security when Municipal undertaken age-old laxmi Narayan Bari lake has found poisoned by some unknown miscreants. This lake was undertaken by AMC with an aim to keep it clean, as a part of chainless drive. Since decades, fishing cultivation was done at that lake. But AMC put an object with anymore fishing activity. On various sides of the lake cleanliness related banners were put but with this incident, the fishy smell has occupied the city but no initiative has been taken to identify the miscreants yet, neither any step has taken to clean the lake. AMC's negligence has alleged as AMC could not provide a single CCTV camera in that lake side, which is the most popular lake at Agartala under AMC. This is a prominent area in Agartala City, but due to lack of CCTV cameras the incident has held.

This lake is considered as a holy lake made by Tripura Kings and Lake-ghat has become a part of all celebrations as Mahalaya to Basanti Puja.

Resentment has brewed among the locals and the temple residences there after the incident. Local people alleged that as fishing cultivation was banned so some of the earlier fishermen can do this.

A temple dedicated to the Hindu  God Lakshminarayan located in the Ujjayanta Palace ground in the city of Agartala. The temple was constructed by King Birendra Kishore Tripura.

This is also a destination of tourist, but since Sunday morning rotten fishes smells are hovering everywhere. People who are passing by the lake are bound to cover their mouth out of the dirty smell

Later police also came to the spot and began investigation against the case.
