AGARTALA, March 4 (TIWN): DM, SDM and many other Govt offices in Tripura have observed heated moments when BJP kicked off Civil Disobedience movement against barbarous murder of a Tribal leader Chanmohon Tripura. Massive clashes were reported among the leaders and police during the protests allegedly by CPI-M. Some BJP members were injured during the protest. Reportedly, across every Districts huge number of BJP protesters had participated in this Civil Disobedience Movement. Chanmohon Tripura who was a BJP tribal leader at Gandachera, was killed in 2016 December 26. BJP alleged that Tripura was killed by ruling CPI-M members. But when CBI inquiry's demand against Chanmohon Tripura's murder was high, state CPI-M through a press release said that Chanmohon Tripura was killed by a mental patient and he himself was mentally imbalanced. CPI-M State Committee's Statement which mocked at all the allegations raised by State BJP about Chanmohon Tripura's murder was counter attacked by State BJP immediately and thus the Civil Disobedience Movement has been observed.

BJP media In-Charge Victor Shome told TIWN that till 2 PM's update atleast 45,000 BJP picketers were arrested in Tripura. However, the number may increase upto 50,000.

BJP State President Biplab Deb also announced if CBI inquiry is not held against his death, then on March 10 massive rally to be organized at Astabol where 50,000 people will protest with Chanmohon Tripura's photos in hand.

In a press release on February 28, Tripura BJP said that the murder of Chanmohon Tripura was plan-wise done by local CPI-M cadres, which was proven by evidences found there; but CPI-M is now unready to accept the truth. BJP State Observer Sunil Deodhar in programme at Kailashahar also mentioned about the same issue. Immediately after Deodhar's speech, BJP HQ gave a press release and informing party members point of view.

On December 30, 2016 the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh condemned the brutal murder of Tribal leader Chan Mohon Tripura, who was ADC’s one of the top most leader at Dhalai Dist. On Friday, Biplab Deb met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to inform CPI-M’s crime-spree for eliminating rival political leaders.

State BJP President alleged that CPI-M killed the tribal BJP leader. Pointing Police’s failure to arrest all the accused, Biplab Deb informed Singh, “…Chan Mohan Tripura’s killing was nothing but a political murder done by the ruling party…later, it has also be learnt that the investigating officer did not take any initiative to arrest the all accused”.

Biplab Deb further sought Home Minister’s direct intervention in this case (Case No. 34/ 2016 U/ S 302 of IPC). On 26th Dec, Chamohon Tripura was allegedly killed by 7 murderers led by Biswada Tripura and all of them are CPI-M party workers. Victim ChanmohonTripura’s brother Ananda Mohon Tripura had lodged an FIR against 7 people at there for killing his elder brother. When Ananda Mohon rushed to save his brother at home, there were seven CPI-M cadres including prime accused Biswada Tripura.

The 7 criminals  further warned Ananda Mohon that  if he continues to BJP then his condition will be same, alleged BJP State Chief.

BJP earlier said that after the FIR was lodged police didn’t arrest anybody but when pressure raised the main accused Biswada Tripura  was said by police as ‘mental-patient’ and instead of arresting him police take him to hospital. However, with much pressures then atlast police arrested.

The BJP leader at Party office further said that she called the I/O of the case Jayanta Debnath at night about the status of the case, but he clearly said he is unaware about the court order. This attitude of police has been termed by state BJP is total ‘Ignorance and Negligence’, said a BJP leaderto media on Dec 28.
