AGARTALA, March 4 (TIWN): To commemorate the celebrations of 46th National safety week, an event was organised at Battala flyover construction spot with pomp and gaiety.
The program has organised under the initiative of the NCC (Nagarjuna Construction Company limited).
With the aim to ensure safety and health in the integrated work culture and lifestyle, renew the commitment of the employees towards safety and health at workplace, the 45 National safety week is observed in the state.
The first National safety Day was launched in 1972 and has since than the day has grown into a major event for celebration. The campaign now entering into its 45th year, has grown into a major national campaign widely celebrated by industry, trade unions, government departments, regulatory agencies, NGO’s and others.
It has made impact on the national level by contributing to increase safety awareness and reduction in accidents. Started for a single day on 4th March as National Safety day, the campaign has now grown and spreaded its wing over a wing from4 march to 11 March.
However, the dias in the program was shared by Executive Engineer from Division I-Ratan Chowdhury, Assistant Executive engineer Anjan Das, SP Traffic Smriti Ranjan Das, DSP BB Das, Company CGM Hemant Kumar, Project Head Amit Mallik and others.
National Safety Week is observed all across the nation with an aim to aware the people about the safety majors to be taken while working in any construction site.
However, the week long programme will continue till March 11.
Besides, the workers and the labourers were also made aware and urged to follow the guidance to avoid any kind of untoward incident.
