New Delhi / Agartala, March 4 (TIWN): Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday said that the Goods and Services Tax (GST), the new indirect tax regime, was on track and July 1 was going to be its likely date of implementation.
"It (GST) looks on track. Subject to Parliament approval, it looks like the possible date of implementation of GST is July 1," Jaitley said after the 11th GST Council meet concluded here.
Tripura CPI-M Govt yet to undertake any reforms to change State's economy even though Centre is trying to improve competitiveness, reforms nationwide.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley last year also said that it was laudable that India has moved up 32 notches in two years in the Global Competitiveness Index of the World Economic Forum and added that with reforms like Goods and Services Tax (GST), the ranking will only improve.
Even though Tripura Assembly ratified GST Bill recently but no economic reforms are planned or observed during CPI-M's 23 years rule.
