Sonamura, July 4 (TIWN): In a joint anti-drug raid operation, Jawans 29 Bn BSF Kulubari BOP, customs department and local police led by the Sub Divisional Magistrate, Sonamura- Subhasis Das, recovered 750 bottles Phensidyle and 66 litres illegal kerosene oil from room no 8, 19 and 13 of Sonamura bazar, today.

Acting on a tip-off raid, they conducted the raid at Sonamura Bazar. During the search troops recovered 750 bottles of Phensidyle and 60 litres illegal kerosene oil from a shop owned by Golap Hossain, a resident of Rangamatia under Sonamura sub-division. A specific case has been registered against the owner and seized kerosene oil. Most probably it was the first case registered by the administration in connection with anti narcotic and drugs raids since February 25, this year.

The raid was conducted by the Coy Commander of 29Bn BSF, Dhanpur BOP- Ashu Ranjan Roy, Inspector Nabin Chowdhury, Arun Yadav, contingent of BSF and local police, customs department including other officials led by the Sub Divisional magistrate, Sonamura- Subhasis Das.

This was one of the best raids in the series of the successful raid-operations recently undertaken by the Sonamura Sub-Divisional Administration in collaboration with the local BSF, NCB and Police authorities.

It is worth mentioning here that the different enforcement agencies in Sonamura sub-division are carrying out special anti-drug drives against the Phensidyle and Ganja smugglers and BSF being the border guarding force is playing active role in this regard.
