AGARTALA, March 3 (TIWN): Tripura tourism sector is deteriorating day after day due to State Govt’s apathy in tourism infrastructure especially the places like Unakoti, Pilak, Old Royal Palaces and temples across the state. In Udaipur some temples have lost under dry-fish bazaar, but Central Govt's data says that Tripura received highest amount of fund under tourism in whole India. Record says that Tripura under Swadesh Darshan and Prasad Schemes of M/O Tourism in 2015-16 was sanctioned with 99.59 croroes, which larger than other NE states and all other states of India. Manipur was given with 89.66 croroes, Arunachal Pradesh with 97.14 crores, Assam 95.67 crores, Mizoram 94.91 crores, Nagaland 97.36, West Bengal 85.39 crores, Andhra Pradesh 60.38 croes and all other states were less than Tripura. But a glimps of tourism development can not be seen in Tripura in the last Financial Year under Tourism Minister Ratan Bhowmik. But now, this year state govt has asked more 100 crores which is most likely to be sanctioned. Like other central govt fund embezzlements in various schemes, Tourism Sector also blinking red light under CPI-M's 23 yrs misrule.

Tripura Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha addressing the Assembly said, "A proposal for Project-ll under Swadesh Darshan Scheme launched by Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India has been sent for consideration covering 9 destinations namely :

1)Surma Cherra water falls,

2) Unakoti

3) Jampui Hills

4) Udaipur Archeological sites

5) Matabari

6) Pilak archeological site

7)Neermahal

8) Bharat--Bangla Matri Udyan at Chottakola and

9) Boxanagar archeological site for an amount of Rs. 100 crores and it's expected that the sanctioned shall be received by 2017-18.

Whereas from Central Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu to Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy advising the state govt to take tourism seriously, but there is no sign of development at all. Even after BG and Express's full fledged connectivity, Tripura tourism site except Neermahal instead of glorifying, they are dying day after day.

In this situation question raised, how far development will come with more 100 croroe's sanction for Tripura Tourism Dept.
