Agartala, July 02: The Tripura University on Wednesday announced results of under-graduate courses including distance education under the 1+1+1 system with an average of 68.29 percent pass percentage in Humanities, Commerce and Science streams. The aggregate included honours and general degree courses from all three streams, an official communiqué from the University said here today.
The communiqué further added that 90.67 percent students passed in honours course of B.A, B.Sc and B.Com degree programs. 62.29 percent students passed in all three streams in general pass courses, it said. The pass percentage for pass course candidates was highest for B.Com candidates with an aggregate of 76.16 percent pass rate.
A total of 2,440 candidates out of 10,576 who appeared in the under-graduate examinations failed this year.
Interestingly, the Tripura University was today announced as the 43rd best University across the nation and the fourth best in Eastern India. The India Today – Nielsen University Ranking Survey 2014 published in the June 30, 2014 edition that the University was announced as the 43rd best University across the country.
The communiqué further said that changes and transformations that took place in the University over the last one and half years, braving all odds, ‘are in the right direction’. Incidentally, incumbent Vice Chancellor of the Tripura University Professor Anjan Kumar Ghosh replaced former Vice Chancellor Professor (Retd) Arunoday Saha in December, 2012. The former professor of Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communications Technology in Gujarat's Gandhinagar tried to revamp academic activities of the University in the past eighteen months.
