AGARTALA, Feb 25 (TIWN): After the mayhem of Friday, security is still tightened at Padmabil Village, Panisagar. The situation became more critical when one victim named Asim Das was referred to Silchar Hospital and further referred to Shillong hospital. Reportedly, section 144 has been deployed at Padmabil village and 2 sets of peace meeting held regarding this.
However, allegation raised against the Panchayat Upa-Pradhan Bharuddin for attacking the Asim Das first. Later more than 100 Muslim locals joined with Baharuddin. Panchayat Pradhan Dipak Ranjan Das and Up-Pradhan Bharudding both were called in that peace meeting in the presence of DM Sandeep Mahatme, SDM P Acharjee, SP Manik Das.
Moreover, a resented group of Hindu locals alleged that many Bangladeshi Muslims are illegally residing there and they have false certificates of citizenship. However, Govt officials and police are now busy to control the situation and bring peace at Padmabil village.
It's worthy to mention here that atleast 11 NREGA workers were injured on Friday at Pdmabil Village when a communal clash between local Hindus and Muslims had developed, regarding a land issue.
The injuredpeople at Dharmanagar hospital are : 1) Ajay Kr. Das (65), 2) Krishna Kanti Sharma (40), 3)Nani Gopal Das (39), 4)Ashim Das (32), 5)Kalika Ranjan Das (50), 6) Amalendu Das (60).
The victims claimed that atleast 100 Muslim locals had attacked upon them with local arms in hands and left them injured. However, asking the SP he said that nothing was like that but it was a clash emerged between the villagers.
BJP Vice President Subal Bhowmik visited Dharmanagar hospital and met the victims; but no political leader has visited the village till now, allegedly, scaring about Muslim vote banks.
