KAILASHAHAR, Feb 21 (TIWN): Kailashahar pharmacists to go on strike for an uncertain period with the allegation of excessive actions against pharmacists by the Drug Officials.
However, the complainers said that whereas in various Govt health centers medicines are providing by the staffs without pharmacy degree, the private pharmacists are brought under all charges.
In this regard, the Chemist and Druggist association members at kailsahar held 3 hours long protest from 10 AM to 1 PM on Tuesday.
The Association President Manic Lal Roy, Himangus Sekhar Som had lead the protest at Kailashahar.
The protesters alleged that without any prior notice the Drug Inspector comes to the shops and check if there is nay registered pharmacist or not. If the pharmacist go for a break and the inspector found his absent than the shop is suspended for a week.
Atleast 200 families are living with this pharmacy profession but due to the banning of those shops for week-long the shops remain close, resulted in huge business loss.
The protesters said if such activities are not stopped than the medical shops will be closed for uncertain period and Tripura Govt will be responsible for it.
However, a section of people talking in support of the Drug Inspectors said that after many unwanted incidents reported from various places of the state, the Drug inspectors are taking these steps.
